Eastern Male Meadowlark, Cades Cove, TN – Great Smoky Mountains National Park

The Eastern Meadowlark (Sturnella magna) can be found in pasture lands, meadows, and grassy meadows searching for insects such as beetles, grasshoppers, and crickets.  They are medium-sized similar to a blackbird.  The males are easier to find due to their yellow coloring.
